Job Title:          Vice President of Community Impact

Reports To:       President & CEO

Supervises:       Impact Strategies Director, Community Impact Associate, 21st Century Council Program Coordinator

Staffs:               Community Impact Committee

Status:              Full-time, Salaried, Exempt

 

Position Summary

As a member of UWBB’s Executive Team, the Vice President of Community Impact (CI) works closely with the President & CEO to lead efforts to develop, execute, promote and evaluate community impact strategies that align with UWBB’s mission to raise awareness, mobilize resources and find collaborative, targeted solutions for our community’s most vital concerns.

Essential Duties/Key Areas of Responsibility

Impact Strategies Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key CI and community stakeholders
  • Develop strategic partnerships, coalitions and initiatives that deliver sustainable and measurable community impact
  • Direct and monitor all aspects of UWBB initiative work
    • Oversee and coordinate the community investment and impact work processes
    • Administer the funding application and allocation processes for program partners in each county
    • Work with RD staff to recruit allocation team members in each county
    • Recruit and manage program evaluators and overall evaluation process
    • Lead the organization in measuring outcomes of programs, initiatives, grants, and other CI partnership
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze data to inform CI strategies, decisions, trends, and the measurement of program outcomes
  • Be knowledgeable about the community’s most pressing challenges and community indicators as related to UWBB’s mission and vision
  • Seek and drive innovative solutions, where appropriate, to the delivery of programs and partnerships that address social and economic change

 

Grant Management

  • Oversee the administration of federal, state and/or private grants within the CI Department
  • Work closely with the VP of Finance & Operations and Impact Strategies Director to ensure that documentation and reporting requirements are met in a timely manner
  • Facilitate regular meetings and/or site visits with grant partners and program staff to ensure compliance and satisfaction of goals and deliverables

 

Other Essential Duties:

  • Provide support and reporting as needed for CI Committee Chair, Members and Board Members
  • Share CI and program partner information, data, stories, etc. with Communications and Resource Development (RD) staff for use in overall marketing and fundraising efforts
  • Serve as main point of contact with UWBB Program Partners and assist with the management of their workplace campaigns
  • Work with RD staff as needed to match donors with program partner volunteer opportunities

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field required (business, social work or related discipline preferred)
  • At least three to five years of experience in non-profit or community organization
  • Minimum three to five years of grant management experience
  • Significant knowledge of program evaluation methodologies and outcome measurement practices
  • Experience managing partnerships or contracts as a representative of a funding organization preferred
  • Leadership in an executive team role with supervisory experience preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other related software including databases, cloud-based systems and analytical software
  • Effective communications skills (written, verbal, oral)
  • Strong speaking and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, results-oriented leader
  • Ability to create program budgets, make projections and conduct budget analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with diverse community segments, volunteers, groups, individuals, and professionals
  • Excellent leadership, team building, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to adapt to changing community conditions
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast paced work environment
  • An individual with the utmost professional and personal integrity
  • Displays organizational values of Leadership, Accountability, Integrity, Collaboration, Focus and Respect in everyday tasks

 

Work Environment:

  • Professional office setting
  • Extended periods of stationary work
  • Ability to operate computers for up to eight hours/day
  • Occasional travel within UWBB neighboring county footprint
  • Access to reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and a valid driver’s license required
